Ende Gelande: Strategies 4 Climate Justice

March 23, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Ende Gelande (Here and No Further): Strategies and Stories for Climate Justice. The German Resistance collective that shut down coal and inspired thousands to stand together to keep fossil fuel in the ground, will visit Charlottesville as a central, if not directly affected, point near the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline as one stop on their “Scaling Up the Resistance U.S. Tour”.

Please join us to learn of their successes in organizing and resistance on Saturday, March 23 from 6-9 pm. Lobo Marino and Friends will play from 8-9 pm.  Hosted by Water Is Life. Protect It and many others.

The event will be held at Sojourners United Church of Christ, at the corner of Elliott and Monticello Avenues in Charlottesville, VA. Enter the parking lot from Monticello Avenue or park on Montrose Ave. Entrance in the back of the building facing away from Monticello Avenue. Doors open 5:45 and event begins promptly at 6.

Ende Gelande is well known for their large aerial presence in Hambach Forest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOgLAPEDTmc
and their shut down of the lignite coal mine at Vattenfall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xa0dTUQL-Eo

They will also be present to share and to teach at many points in Appalachia, especially near the path of the proposed Mountain
Valley Pipeline where peaceful civil disobedience and resistance is already being practiced by Appalachians Against Pipelines
