The Independent Petroleum Association of America is holding a reception at Trump International to woo and buy off members Congress.

“On March 6th, the Independent Petroleum Association of America is hosting a Congressional Reception on the Hill. The industry with unfettered access to Congress hardly needs another opportunity to influence elected officials.
The picture is clear, clean energy is the path to a healthy economy, healthy communities, and an abundant energy supply. Dirty fossil fuels are just that, fossils of the past that need to remain buried in the ground. The rapid proliferation of natural gas pipelines occurring in our country guarantees that fracked gas won’t be left in the ground. More pipelines mean more fracking.
For the past two years, more than 200 organizations have been calling for Congressional hearings on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s abuses of its power during pipeline reviews that serve the interests of the polluters, not the public.
Representatives of our organizations will be outside the Capitol as those we elected to protect us party with the companies that are doing irreparable harm to us. We invite you to stand with us.
We are sending that same invitation to members of Congress. We plan to call and tweet at them in the weeks leading up to the event and drop-off invites at their offices close to the event. Please join us in D.C. on the 6th! And please help us pressure members of Congress to do the right thing and stand outside with those they represent.
Stay tuned for more details to come!”
