New Pipelines: Do We Really Need Them?

June 7, 2017 @ 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm

Free

Join us to discuss the Commonwealth’s energy future and the economics of natural gas pipelines: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The Atlantic Coast Pipeline and Mountain Valley Pipeline are a couple of the largest pipelines proposed to cross the Appalachian Mountains to carry natural gas from the Marcelus Shale out to other markets. Both of these pipelines are slated to be permitted by the fall. Despite these potential approvals coming up, we hear very little discussion about whether these pipelines are actually needed.

IF YOU’VE HAD QUESTIONS ABOUT THE NEED FOR NEW PIPELINES AND ALL THE POTENTIAL ECONOMIC IMPACTS OF THIS NATURAL GAS INFRASTRUCTURE, THIS IS THE EVENT FOR YOU!

Thomas Hadwin is an educator and businessman with experience in electric and gas utilities in Michigan and New York. He is currently focused on explaining the economic arguments for not building fracked gas pipelines.
