Public Hearing: MVP Water Crossings

January 23, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm

Despite the Bold Alliance petition (https://boldalliance.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=24149) that was delivered to the VMRC demanding that public hearings be held in proximity to the route of the proposed pipelines, the VMRC has announced that a hearing on the MVP water crossings will be held in Newport News (over 4 hours away!). Details below:

Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP), LLC, (VMRC Application #17-1609) requests authorization to install a natural gas pipeline beneath the bed of 18 streams and/or rivers with drainage areas of greater than five (5) square miles, which are considered to be State-owned subaqueous bottomlands of the Commonwealth, along the designated pipeline corridor in Giles, Montgomery, Franklin, Roanoke and Pittsylvania Counties. The pipeline is protested by numerous citizens along its route.
