The annual Dominion shareholders meeting will be next week, on May 6, 2020. Clean Virginia is circulating a petition to deliver to shareholders before the meeting telling them the Atlantic Coast Pipeline is hopelessly bogged down in court, will harm our climate, and no longer makes economic sense, and it is time to abandon the doomed ACP once and for all. The argument against the Atlantic Coast Pipeline is further supported by Dominion’s own words. Dominion is already abandoning previous plans to build 8-10 more fracked-gas power plants in the state. Dominion recently told the Virginia State Corporation Commission that after the passage of the Virginia Clean Economy Act, “significant build-out of natural gas generation facilities is not currently viable.”
