Buckingham County Planning Commission Meeting

November 21, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

At their meeting on November 21, 2016, the Buckingham County Planning Commission is expected to discuss the conditions it will attach to the special use permit, if it in fact decides to recommend that the project go forward to the Buckingham Board of Supervisors.

If built, the compressor station would have significant impacts on Buckingham, which is known for its pristine environment and rural culture. The proposed site for this fracked gas propulsion station is in the middle of Union Hill, a historic, predominantly African American freedmen community. The compressor station would create a public safety hazard, dramatically increase noise and air pollution, lower property values, and emit tons of greenhouse gases into an already overburdened atmosphere.

Attend the meeting and let your presence help in the ongoing effort to prevent the Buckingham Board of Supervisors from approving the Atlantic Coast Pipeline compressor station. Buckingham residents need to know they have their neighbors’ support. As this effort continues, please save the date for the next Buckingham County Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday, December 12th, 2016 as well.
