The West Virginia-Virginia Water Quality Monitoring Program is a program developed by Trout Unlimited that is being implemented by Trout Unlimited and the West Virginia Rivers Coalition to train volunteers to monitor coldwater streams for impacts from shale gas and pipeline-related development and other sources of nonpoint pollution. FON has partnered with TU and WVRC to organize this training session.
Training will be July 16, 2016, 10am till 4pm, at Rockfish Valley Community Center. Volunteers must commit to long term monthly water testing, and to weekly testing at assigned sites if construction of the ACP should begin. After construction, testing may remain weekly or become monthly again depending on the specific needs of each testing location.
Volunteers need to register with Jacob Lemon (Eastern Shale Gas Monitoring Coordinator), via phone 814-779-3965 or email jlemon@tu.org. Include: first and last name, mailing address, phone number, and email address.
