Take the bus to Richmond for the Water Is Life Rally and Concert! Two buses are chartered to travel to Richmond on December 2nd for the Rally and Concert. There are 40 free bus tickets available for people to travel to Richmond. Bus stops in Harrisonburg, Staunton and Charlottesville for riders.

On Saturday, December 2, 2017 we will assemble at 1 pm at the Bell Tower on the Virginia Capital Grounds for the Circle of Protection Rally starting promptly at 1 pm. Together, we will encircle the entire capital grounds to protect Virginia’s water as well as the courage and integrity of its newly elected leaders. Bring a blue ribbon, scarf or fabric to create the waves of our circle.

Our 60′ Water Spirit puppet and the ARTivists who will accompany and perform her will then walk together on the sidewalk a few short blocks up to The National for a concert, keynote speaker, participatory water is life ritual, drinks, and opportunities to prepare for a revived and powerful presence at the upcoming Virginia State Water Control Board hearings.

We invite all who are concerned about clean water to join together to tell the story of how the MVP and ACP pipelines, coal ash dumping and weakened regulatory agencies are a real and certain threat to the drinking water of all the citizens of Virginia, especially those who live in Richmond.

Our rally and concert will be creative, participatory, affirming, and peaceful and the messaging of those who join should be fine for children’s wide eyes. You are invited to participate. Our event will focus needed attention on the Virginia Water Control Board final hearings coming up in Richmond December 6, 7, 11 & 12 because these hearings represent the last political chance we have as Virginians to stop these fracked gas pipelines which are not about keeping the lights on or about jobs, but are instead about a corruption in our government and a greedy land and profit grab by federal agencies and national corporations.

Your voice is needed on Saturday, December 2 and for each day of these hearings. The Department of Environmental Quality, the Virginia Water Control Board, the new Governor and the new legislature all need to be reminded who they are working for and it is not Dominion Power, EQT or any of the other large corporations seeking to profit from these greed lines.
